The incumbent will have general charge and supervision over the affairs of the Chapter, shall preside at all meetings of the Chapter’s Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee and shall be an ex-officio and nonvoting member of all committees except the Nominating Committee; and shall perform all other duties usually pertaining to that office. Also, to identify, mentor and develop their successor to ensure a smooth transition at the end of their term.

The Director of Community Relations and Development is a key leadership role within the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) – Chicago Chapter. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the local community, fostering partnerships, and leading fundraising and development initiatives to support the chapter’s mission and programs. This position will report to the SVP of Operations.
Senior Vice President of Operations
Senior Vice President of Operations:
The Senior Vice President (SVP) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all board operations, ensuring that they align with the chapter’s mission, and facilitating the successful execution of programs, workshops, seminars, and events. As the primary deputy to the President, the SVP manages the board’s overall performance, promotes collaboration, and ensures that the organization meets its priorities. In the absence or incapacity of the Chapter President, the SVP assumes all their duties and, in the event of a vacancy, becomes the President for the remainder of the term in accordance with chapter bylaws. Additionally, this role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining chapter records and property, and ensuring smooth leadership transitions through effective succession planning.

The Vice President of Administration is a pivotal leader within the NAAAHR Chicago Chapter’s executive team, entrusted with ensuring the efficient and effective operation of board governance and chapter administration. This role encompasses meticulous recordkeeping, strategic coordination of meetings, and the seamless execution of administrative functions in partnership with the Chapter President. Beyond administrative excellence, the Vice President of Administration is instrumental in fostering leadership continuity by identifying, mentoring, and developing future board members and chapter leaders. Reporting directly to the Chapter President, this position is essential to maintaining organizational integrity, transparency, and long-term success.

The Vice President of Collegiate Relations plays a pivotal role within the National Association of African Americans in
Human Resources (NAAAHR) – Chicago Chapter, focusing on fostering relationships with colleges and universities.
This position is responsible for developing initiatives to engage students pursuing careers in human resources,
creating pathways for mentorship, and promoting educational opportunities within the field.

The Vice President of Finance is a critical leadership position within the NAAAHR Chicago Chapter, responsible for shaping and executing the chapter’s financial strategy to ensure fiscal health, transparency, and long-term sustainability. This role provides expert stewardship over all financial operations, ensuring compliance with non-profit regulations while supporting the chapter’s mission and strategic priorities. The VP of Finance partners closely with the Chapter President, Senior Vice President of Operations, board members, and committees to embed sound financial practices into all aspects of organizational decision-making. This position reports directly to the SVP of Operations.

This role develops and executes a comprehensive professional development plan, curates high-quality programming, and oversees all chapter events—ensuring they align with the organization’s mission and provide value to members. This position reports to the SVP of Operations.
